Today, there is hardly an article published or paper presented, referring to the television broadcasting opportunities & resulting audience measurement, without a stream of terms/abbreviations used, which often are unclear or even unknown to the audience.
This inspired the Communication Department to compile a comprehensive reference source for AGB Nielsen Media Research.
Since its first drafting a very big thank must go to a number of AGB Nielsen Media Research staff members who have made valuable contributions and to Toby Syfret, who not only accredited the existing terms but added a wide range of new terms, making this glossary far more comprehensive & complete.
We believe that this glossary offers a valuable reference & perhaps even a learning resource for not only for AGB Nielsen Media Research but for TV broadcasters, advertisers & advertising agencies who use television as a media of communication.
We have complied the glossary in such a way, that an item can be searched either in alphabetical order by a powerful free text search feature.
