SAARF (the South African Advertising Research Foundation) announced today that it has awarded the new TAMS contract from 2011 to AGB Nielsen Media Research.
SAARF’s CEO, Dr Paul Haupt, said that four international research companies tendered for the contract, but that after a long and exhaustive process, the SAARF Tender Committee decided on AGB Nielsen. The decision was based on AGB’s excellent knowledge of the local television environment and world-class technological solutions at a good price. In addition to the viewing currently measured by the existing TAMS® panel, it is also expected that the new contract will measure time shifted and DTT viewing.
