TAM Methodology - The Panel

As soon as the characteristics of the universe of study are determined, recruitment for panel members begins.

We go back to the ES household respondents for further screening and interview, just to make sure that they fit the needs of the panel. When the household passes the screening and interview phase, they

are oriented about AGB Nielsen Media Research, the TV Audience Measurement (TAM) process, the peoplemeter and our panel incentive program. Formal invitation to join the panel is also extended. When the household accepts, they are scheduled to installation of peoplemeters and training.

All information obtained in the screening and interview phases are considered classified information. AGB Nielsen Media Research keeps the identity of their panel households in strict confidentiality. In turn, the panel member also agrees not to disclose their identity as an AGB Nielsen Media Research panel member, among others.

So, what does it mean to be a part of AGB Nielsen Media Research’s Viewing Panel?

Information generated by TAM is widely used by television networks to evaluate the performance of their programs and the planning of future television programs. Your viewing habits also become the basis for advertisers’ delivery of their goods and services. So, being a member of the AGB Nielsen Media Research Viewing Panel you indirectly help improve your family life as consumers of television products and services.

To recognize their participation, AGB Nielsen Media Research has devised its own incentive system. This includes a rewards program where families earn points their stay in the panel. Depending on the number of points they earned, families can use the points they earn to redeem the gift of their choice from our catalogue of kitchen tools and appliances.
